Good Words for Great Relationships

Love

Listen up men! If you need help in your relationship, nothing will make a bigger difference than your relationship with Christ! The world tells us we have to be tough and pride makes us do stupid things in front of our buddies.  However, the Bible says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself."

Good Words

When we love the Lord and our neighbor, our hearts change.  Goodness, kindness, purity, and love flows from our heart through our words and deeds.  The only thing I have ever seen change what flows out of a person is coming to know Christ.  Every good relationship is the product of many good words. Every bad relationship is the result of bad words, or no words at all.

Consider how you fell in love in the first place. You talked. You took great care with your choice of words. You spoke encouraging words to each other in order to develop the relationship. But once many couples have secured their relationship, that carefulness with words falls away.  Carelessness and hurtful words come from insecurity and everyone has some form of insecurity. Often, insecurity will prevent us from saying things we should say, but don't, because it may embarrass us.

Security

When our security comes from God, whose faithfulness is everlasting, we gain confidence and strength. When we put our security in Him, we worry less about what others think. We don't worry about how our words sound.  A relationship with Jesus changes everything.

Honest Communications

A lack of knowledge about a woman's needs often results in insensitive comments. Without honest communications,  men do not understand a woman's need for security.  It is through open and honest communication that women develop trust and become secure in relationships.  Loving men who patiently and frequently communicate with their woman create intimacy and strong bonds.  In a healthy relationship, everyone wins.

Conclusion

God created the world by speaking it into existence, and we also use words to create our world, our relationships, our families, and our homes.  Speaking good words into your relationships begins with establishing a personal relationship with Christ.  You can begin your relationship with Christ right now by praying the following prayer.

Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
