How Do You Change People?

We can’t really change anyone, but Jesus can, and sometimes he lets us be a part of that change.

There’s only one way to change people: that’s from the inside out.

You’ve got to change the roots of a tree to change its fruit. If you change the roots, the fruit will take care of itself. If you fight the fruit, try to change people from the outside in, what needs to be changed just keeps getting worse.

It’s like pruning the tree. If the roots are rotten, we can do all the pruning we want, but the fruit will still be bad.

So how do you change someone on the inside. There’s only one way to do that -- with Jesus. We’ve got to have more Jesus. We get more Jesus by having more people of faith in more churches. We’ve got to have more believers, more churches, more help from the believers and the churches.

I’m not talking about religion—religious people, religious churches -- but people and churches that truly know and love Jesus.

Religion consists of rules about faith that the religious believe earns them their salvation. Being religious doesn’t mean you know Jesus. Religion is not a relationship with Jesus. Religion is part of the problem, not the solution. Religion is giving to get. It’s manipulation.

For people to change for the better, we need more people and more churches that love Jesus like Jesus loves us; and that reflect the love of Jesus into the lives of others.

That's how people get changed from the inside out. Anyone who really knows Jesus, runs to him, not away from him.

Jesus is not a religion He is a savior.

Change the heart and the mind changes.

Jesus and only Jesus can change hearts.

We change others and change the world when we run to Jesus and bring others to him!!

Lord, help us all remember we are your church. Help us love as you love us! Help us be a light in the darkness. Help us stand for truth and, Jesus, please help the hurt embrace truth at all cost. Amen!

Trust God’s Word no matter what.

John 15:12

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

Isaiah 43: 18-19

Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Laus Deo,
