How To Forgive Your Spouse
Posted by Kenny Vaughan on 15th Oct 2018
The most forgiving people I have ever met are those who believe they have been forgiven of much. The truth is, we have all been forgiven of much. Forgiveness does not require feelings of forgiveness. It requires love despite our feelings. It takes loving over time to change feelings. If after being hurt we refuse to forgive, then the lack of love over time only leads to more problems. Moving forward in forgiveness is an all out fight to live a loving life. The hurt we have suffered will cost us dearly, but we only have two choices. Fight to live a loving life and see love grow stronger in our own life, or fight to be loved and see love die in our own lives. Please fight to forgive, and pray your spouse will truly repent for their own sake....so love can also rule their lives. If they truly repent, God will use it all for their good and you will be the beneficiary. If they don’t truly repent, love may require you move on. The only way to find the answer to this question is to fight for love and follow it where it takes you...one step at a time. We must know what love really is though in order to follow it. If you’re not sure, please get a copy of “The Right Fight.” It’s my very best effort to explain what love really is. It’s not a feeling!
Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
