How to love someone when you don’t love yourself

Loving others or someone else does not require we love ourself...thank God! I got over myself years ago, and it was the best decision I ever made. We are not the origin of love. To believe we are is to suggest we are our own god. We are not the Creator! We are the creation. Jesus is love! When we love Him and come to fully understand His love for us we are left with a desire to love others, and He teaches us how to love them. It’s the whole reason I do every one of these posts. His love for me despite myself....saved me from myself. It helped me became a better father, husband, son, brother, athlete, neighbor and friend. His love leaves us with a burden to love. It’s why I wrote “The Right Fight” to share with others the life changing truth of His love. As we love others...His love flows through us filling us from the inside out. Being filled with love is the fruit of loving....it is not the root. The root is loving God and others without regard for ourself. Your life is made whole by loving God and others...not by being loved. 1 John 4:7-12,”Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.”
