Un-Forgiveness Stops Our Lives On A Dime
“Because time keeps moving forward, un-forgiveness leads to us living our lives walking backward as we keep staring at what’s happened. It prevents us from focusing on what is happening in our lives.
“Forgiving ourselves or others is not about pretending our action or another’s action is OK or no longer regrettable. There are things I did thirty years ago that I despise more today than when I first did them.
“Forgiveness is about not wasting the greatest sacrifice the world has ever known: Jesus Christ, who died on a cross so we could be forgiven.
“Forgiveness is about saying, “I want you to change, and from this point forward, I will no longer choose to surrender my thoughts to what has happened and live my life looking backwards. I will look forward, grateful that none of us are locked in or forever defined by our pasts.”
“Refusing to accept God’s forgiveness or to forgive others always results in hurting the people around us and leads to our own destruction.
“Being loved always makes it easier to love, but we must love (forgive) whether we are loved or not.”
Laus Deo,
