Where Do You Feel Farthest from God?
Posted by Kenny Vaughan on 10th Jan 2024
I think I feel farthest from God when I allow my fears to take the lead in my life, and I run down those rabbit trails of what-ifs, and then I make selfish decisions to protect myself as if I am the best protection that I have for myself, instead of trusting God.
I asked my wife Tammie, “When do you feel farthest from God?” She said, “I don’t ever feel far from God.”
I said, “That’s awesome, but when do you feel the farthest from God?”
She said, “You know, it is whenever I sin. But the second I realize I have sinned, and I know that I have, I know that God hasn’t moved away from me, but I have moved away from Him. And, so I’ll repent, and then I feel close again.”
I think she had some great advice.
James 4:8
Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
Trust God’s Word no matter what.
Keep your eyes on the horizon.
