If Your Goal is to be Happy—

You are going to fail to love. Because loving doesn’t always make us happy. Happy is like a fruit. It comes and goes with the seasons. Love is like a root. It’s here to stay. So, if my goal is happy, I am going to fail to love you, because sometimes Ioving you won’t make me happy. If my goal is love, I am going to love you—happy or not. This is why so many major social media influencers who tell you your new goal should be to be happy also tell you that you can’t care about what other people think, or that you just can’t care about other people. Because, if you care about other people, you love them. And if you love them, sometimes you have to do what doesn’t make you happy because you are doing what’s best for them. Don’t make happy your goal, make love your goal, and let happy take care of itself. It will. Trust God’s Word no matter what, because His word is truth. Keep your eyes on the horizon.
