Why Love Is Always Your Best Defense
Because if I love you, I am more concerned about what your selfishness is doing to you than I am concerned about what it is doing to me.
In other words, I take a stand for you because I don’t want your selfishness hurting you and wrecking your life--because that’s what it does--long before I take a stand for me because I don’t want your selfishness hurting me.
I am more concerned about you being wrecked than about me being hurt. I just get protected in the process.
Everybody is always talking about how hard it is to be in a relationship with a narcissist. The answer to that is to love the narcissist.
If you love the narcissist, they will either no longer be a narcissist or you are no longer going to be in the relationship because them being a narcissist is going to destroy their life.
You are not willing to help them do that.
It takes two selfish people to have a selfish relationship. You throw a loving person in there and selfishness has got to go, or they will.
Think about it.
Philippians 2:3
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves.
Trust God’s Word no matter what.
Keep your eyes on the horizon.
